Seniors are a large, growing and important part of our community. NCH has many programs in the hospital and in the community designed to provide the support and education they need to remain healthy, active and independent.

Did you know that NCH has more than 800 volunteers who contribute their time and talent by working in over 70 hospital departments? These compassionate and caring people volunteer their time to aid patients, their families and friends by supporting the medical professionals who provide patient care as well as offering clerical assistance in administrative areas. From a welcoming voice to a friendly face giving directions, they help make NCH a warmer, more caring place. If you are interested in making a difference in your community, consider becoming an NCH volunteer. Call 847-618-4450.
Whether you're retired, working full time or caring for your family, Northwest Community offers volunteer opportunities to fit your schedule. If you are able to commit to at least three hours of service a week, please consider offering your time. Volunteers are needed seven days a week, morning, afternoon, and evening.
If you can’t commit to volunteering on a regular basis, there are several other important opportunities:
- Get involved in one of our many committees
- Help at one of our fund-raising events
- Utilize your creativity and talent knitting baby caps for newborns, making hand puppets for young patients or sewing fleece blankets for oncology patients
