Community Health Initiatives:

Overview

Northwest Community Hospital’s mission is to provide quality, compassionate healthcare services to the people of the northwest suburbs. This commitment not only applies to our patients but to everyone who lives and works in our community. We want to do all we can to keep you healthy because...we care for you!

In 2007, we hired a professional consulting firm to conduct a “Community Health Assessment” to determine the health status, behaviors, and needs of members of our community. The assessment consisted of interviews, surveys, and focus groups within our service area. The results showed that although our overall health status was relatively good, there were three areas where we fell short of national standards: smoking cessation, pediatric overweight, and the number of men receiving routine prostate screenings.

Our Community Health and Outreach Department has been working with our clinical staff, marketing department, and many community organizations to develop a comprehensive plan to tackle these health concerns. We will be committing our time and resources in addressing these health issues and investing in our most valuable commodity…our comm(you)nity.

Check back soon to learn more about each of the three areas focused on by NCH's Community Health and Outreach Department, and NCH's efforts to improve our community's overall health and well-being.
