Alcohol and Drug Addictions

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)

If you believe you may have a problem with alcohol, there is help. AA meetings are held Mondays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 7 pm at the NCH Kirchoff Center. For more information, resources, or to find additional meetings in the area, visit www.aa-nia.org.

Al-Anon Family Groups: "Just for Today"

If you have been affected by someone else's drinking, there is help. Al-Anon Family Groups is a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength and hope in order to solve their common problems. Al-Anon believes that alcoholism is a family disease and that changed attitudes can aid recovery, whether the alcoholic is still drinking or not. Al-Anon holds an open meeting, with an Al-Anon and an AA speaker, every Sunday at 7:30 pm in Rooms 1-6 and 1-7 of Northwest Community Hospital. Alateen

Alateen is part of Al-Anon Family Groups. Alateen is a support group for teenagers who have a family member or friend with a drinking problem. Alateen meetings are sponsored by Al-Anon members and are geared specifically to help teens who are affected by an alcoholic so they can learn effective ways to cope with problems and support each other.To find a meeting in your area, visit www.niafg.org to learn more.

Families Anonymous

Families Anon is a support group for family and friends of alcoholics and substance abusers, whether they are still drinking/using or not. Those who are affected by the alcoholic/substance abuser meet to share with each other their experiences, strength and most importantly, hope. The meetings are held on the third floor of 901 W. Kirchoff Rd., Arlington Heights on Thursdays at 7:30 pm. Meetings are held at the NCH Kirchoff Center on Thursdays at 7:30 pm. For more information, call 847.618.2700.
