South Pavilion Grand Opening WOWs the Crowd!

Ribbon Cutting

Lead donors, civic leaders and Hospital officials get ready to cut the ribbon at a special ceremony held April 21, 2010, to open NCH's new South Pavilion. On Wednesday, April 21, 2010, lead donors and hundreds of President’s Circle members joined Hospital leaders and local dignitaries at a special grand opening ceremony for NCH’s new South Pavilion. Foundation board chair Diane Hill, CEO Bruce Crowther, NCH board chair Dan DiCaro and medical staff president Allan Malmed, MD, all welcomed the excited crowd.

The new building was blessed by clergy from four faith traditions, and Bruce Crowther then cut the ribbon—aided by Dr. Ahmed, Dr. Malmed, Dan DiCaro, and Diane Hill. Tours of the brand new, state-of-the-art building followed, and some South Pavilion donors had a chance to view their family’s recognition plaques for the first time.

Two special displays in the new east entrance lobby were also unveiled at the event.  One is just inside the entrance and recognizes all donors of $10,000 or more to the Community Vision Campaign—a record-breaking initiative now at $28.5 million.  Down the hallway is a beautiful display recognizing lifetime giving, volunteers and annual donors.  The display is appropriately named “A Community of Giving.”

Diane Hill thanked all our donors, noting that their generosity is key to making a good facility a phenomenal facility. She also said:

“The greatest strength of Northwest has always been the very people it serves.  And the community has played an unprecedented role in the creation of this new place for care and healing.”
