NCH named one of the “Best Companies to Work For” for the third time in four years

The February 2, 2009 issue of Fortune Magazine lists Northwest Community as among the “100 Best Companies to Work For” in America. We were the only Illinois-based organization to make the 2009 ranking. We were also recognized by Fortune in 2007 and 2006.

NCH is proud to join many nationally recognized companies on this year’s list, including Google, Starbucks, Microsoft, Dreamworks Animation SKG, Ernst & Young, Nordstrom, FedEx and General Mills.

What does this distinction say about NCH?

Being ranked among the top 100 Best Companies is a true honor. It means that we’re maintaining the same high standards as the other well-regarded organizations. These include:

Credibility - managers regularly communicate with employees about the company’s direction and plan and solicit their ideas.

  • Employees know how their work relates to the company’s goals.
  • Words are always followed by action.

Respect - managers support professional development and show appreciation and collaborate with employees on relevant decisions.

  • Employees are cared for as individuals with personal lives.

Fairness - balanced treatment for all employees in terms of rewards, absence of favoritism in hiring and promotions and lack of discrimination of process for appeals.

We’re proud to say that all of these qualities and more exist right now at Northwest Community Hospital.
