A dedicated pediatric emergency room, close to home

Northwest Community Hospital's pediatric emergency room (Peds ER) is staffed by board-certified pediatric emergency specialists on-staff at Children's Memorial and NCH. The NCH pediatric emergency department is open from 9 am to midnight daily and located in a newly renovated, child-friendly area, away from the main emergency room. Children's Memorial Hospital pediatric hospitalists are on-site 24 hours a day and are available to see children in the main ER when the pediatric ER is closed.

Level III NICU for the highest level of care for newborns

NCH is accredited as a Level III perinatal facility by the Illinois Department of Public Health, allowing us to care for premature infants of any gestational age. Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides the most advanced care to premature and critically ill infants, including multiples. Children's Memorial neonatologists, on-staff at both NCH and Children’s Memorial, attend high-risk deliveries and provide round-the-clock care for newborns with special needs.
