NCH's pediatric emergency room is recognized by the state of Illinois, through its Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP) certification, for providing the highest level of care for children. It is staffed by Children's Memorial pediatric specialists board-certified in pediatric emergency medicine.

Northwest Community Hospital is designated as a Level III perinatal facility by the Illinois Department of Public Health, allowing us to care for premature infants of any gestational age. The hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides the most advanced care available to critically ill newborns.
