Advanced diagnostic and imaging consultations

Through our unique partnership with Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, NCH pediatricians now have the ability to review echocardiograms in real time with pediatric cardiologists located at Lurie Children's. A telemedicine consultation with a Lurie Children's pediatric specialist is available in any NCH unit where children are seen.

Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP) certification

NCH's pediatric emergency room has been recognized by the state of Illinois as providing specialized emergency care for children. The pediatric emergency staff is specially trained to care for children using child-sized equipment and following guidelines for weight-appropriate medications.

Child-friendly emergency room environment

Eleven patient bays in the pediatric emergency room feature equipment, seating, stretchers and supplies uniquely fashioned and sized to meet the needs of pediatric patients and their families.

NCH's Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Our Level III NICU is state-certified to treat premature infants and newborns requiring a high level of technological support. Board-certified neonatologists from Lurie Children's are on-site 24 hours a day.
