Willis Parsons, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist and medical director of the Gastroenterology Center, where he specializes in advanced interventional GI procedures and the management of pancreaticobiliary disease. He completed his residency and fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital—an affiliate of Harvard Medical School—followed by an interventional endoscopy fellowship and chief medical residency at The Maine Medical Center. He has directed more than 130 live endoscopy courses and has published extensively.
Eric J. Yegelwel, MD, chief of gastroenterology since 2008, has been a board-certified gastroenterologist at Northwest Community Hospital since 1989. Dr. Yegelwel interned and did his residency at the University of Illinois after graduating from New Jersey Medical School. He also had a fellowship at Loyola University.
Anita Spiess, MD, vice chief of gastroenterology since 2008, arrived at Northwest Community Hospital in 1998. She attended Northwestern University Medical School, where she also completed her residency and fellowship. She is board-certified in gastroenterology.
Kathy Lamont, RN, BS, MBA, is the director of the Gastroenterology Center at Northwest Community Hospital. She graduated from National Louis University with a bachelor's degree in healthcare leadership and a master's in business administration. She has been the nurse manager of the Gastroenterology Center at Northwest Community Hospital for fourteen years.
