Risk Reduction Activities

Helping to reduce health risks among your employees

Through our Risk Reduction programs, we provide practical ways for employees to reduce their risk of certain diseases by offering programs to help modify behavior.

Risk reduction programs offer improved control of behavioral risk factors, such as:

  • Use of tobacco
  • Use of alcohol
  • Use of drugs
  • Lack of exercise
  • Poor nutrition

Risk Reduction programs could prevent:

  • Half of all premature deaths
  • One third of all cases of accidental disability
  • Half of all causes of chronic disability

(From a report of the U.S. PreventiveServices Task Force)

Our Risk Reduction programs are taught by certified instructors.

Immunizations

Having employees properly immunized against diseases also plays an important role in risk reduction.

Immunizations include:

  • Influenza (flu) vaccination Provided shortly before flu season begins
  • TDAP vaccination Protects against Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis
  • Hepatitis B Vaccine and Titre A three-dose series of vaccines to prevent Hepatitis B; readings to determine if there's a demonstrated immunity against the disease
  • TB (Tuberculosis) Testing Used to determine the presence of tuberculosis; readings to determine results are provided at NCH facilities or on-site (for an additional fee)
