Attentive and personalized support for prostate cancer patients
A prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test is offered once a year for men at risk of prostate cancer. You should consult with your primary care provider to learn more about the PSA test and find out if you're at risk. If you don't have a primary care provider, call Health Connection for a referral at 847.618.4YOU. Additionally, our Prostate Nurse Navigator is available for consultations by phone (847.618.6572) or in person for guidance and education about prostate cancer screening at any time during the year.
Prostate cancer is a complex disease with many treatment options. A second opinion at NCH will confirm your prostate cancer diagnosis, inform you of all your possible prostate cancer treatment options and help you make the best decision for you and your family. In most cases, a second opinion for prostate cancer requires just one visit, scheduled within one week of the initial request. To request a second opinion, call our prostate nurse navigatort 847.618.6572.
