Your surgeon will tell you whether your outpatient surgery is scheduled at the Day Surgery Center (Entrance 3) or one of NCH's main operating rooms (Entrance 2). Click below for locations and parking.

A leading provider of outpatient surgery services

Nearly half of the surgical procedures we perform each year at Northwest Community Hospital are done on an outpatient basis—which means the patient being operated on goes home the day of the surgery.

Depending on the type of outpatient or minimally invasive surgery you are having, it will be scheduled at either the Day Surgery Center or at one of NCH's main operating rooms (MORs). Your surgeon's office will tell you where your surgery will take place. All NCH operating rooms are staffed by Magnet®-designated nurses, surgical technologists, and board-certified anesthesiologists and surgeons.

NCH Day Surgery Center

Chances are, your outpatient surgery will take place at the Northwest Community Day Surgery Center—one of Illinois' leading day surgery providers, with more than 200 doctors who perform more than 8,000 general surgery procedures annually.

Our facility offers 10 technologically advanced surgical suites, private recovery bays and full-service waiting rooms with a children's area and computer access including wireless Internet service. We provide a comfortable and supportive environment for both patients and their loved ones.

The Day Surgery Center is owned and operated by Northwest Community Hospital, and nationally recognized for its outstanding quality of care. The Center is accredited by The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and licensed by the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Due to the high number of robotic surgeries performed by our da Vinci team, NCH has been named a Robotic Surgery Epicenter for benign gynecology – the first of its kind in the tri-state area of Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana.

PLEASE NOTE

  • If you are unable to keep your surgery appointment, please notify the Day Surgery Center as soon as possible at 847.618.7009.
  • If you develop a fever, rash, cough, cold or other illness, please call your surgeon as soon as possible; it may be necessary to postpone your surgery.
