The Youth Center at Northwest Community Hospital is a substance abuse facility for adolescents. Founded in 2004, we are the only private residential treatment center in Chicago’s northwest suburbs affiliated with a hospital. We provide the complete range of services needed to properly deal with your child’s individual addiction problems.
We recognize addiction and related psychiatric conditions as complex yet treatable illnesses. We define addiction as the use of alcohol and/or drugs that cause increasingly severe and repeated negative physical, mental, emotional, social, spiritual, family, educational and/or vocational consequences. In all our programs, we address the four aspects of recovery: physical, mental, spiritual and social.
We have helped hundreds of young adults overcome their addictions by giving them the support they need to get on with their lives and attain their true potential. At the Youth Center, families work with our on-staff psychiatrist as well as our interdisciplinary team of licensed and certified social workers, clinical counselors, addiction counselors and substance abuse technicians. In addition, residential patients have access to nursing support on-call 24/7.
Working with a holistic approach of mind, body and spirit, our goal is for the adolescent to learn a new way of living and relating to others. We help them learn to experience success and happiness in a context of personal responsibility and abstinence. We do this through a highly structured, interdisciplinary approach to treatment that incorporates the recovery principles of the 12-step program. Our program encompasses every aspect of their life including family dynamics, school performance, social relations, decision-making, nutrition, spirituality and physical well-being.
