NCH Tests EMR Connectivity with Physician Offices

Northwest Community Hospital (NCH) is looking for ways to enhance the flow of clinical information between the Hospital and physician practices. Small-scale pilot projects (one is currently underway) will test the ability for orders and results to flow electronically between the Hospital and physician practices that are equipped with an EMR system.

A successful connection would enable physicians to place orders within their EMR system for outpatient diagnostic tests to be performed at NCH. In turn, the associated test results would be distributed electronically into the physician’s EMR system. Over time, it may be possible for other information, such as dictated reports, to be shared in this manner as well.

Please help us understand your current or future needs.
Whether or not you currently have an EMR system, NCH is interested in your thoughts regarding electronic connectivity. A survey was recently sent to all physicians and practice managers. Responses to this survey will help NCH assess the level of interest in electronic connectivity solutions that could potentially be offered in the future.

If you have not already done so, we kindly request that one member of your practice complete and submit the survey to NCH via fax at 847.618.5529, or e-mail to physicianoutreach@nch.org.
