Area Business Executives Join NCH Board of Directors

Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) this year welcomed two new members to its Board of Directors, Raymond Grady and Marla Friedman Glabe, who were each elected to one-year terms. The NCH Board of Directors is a volunteer board comprised of community members and business leaders who meet monthly and govern Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, as well as its satellite facilities.

Raymond Grady

Raymond GradyRaymond Grady, 60, joined the NCH Board of Directors in September. Grady is a strategic leader who has helped build the NorthShore University HealthSystem in Evanston and Aurora Health Care System in Milwaukee into leading providers of comprehensive health services. He presently serves as chief administrative officer at Aurora Health Care.

“Ray is an accomplished healthcare administrator who brings a wealth of experience to our hospital,” says Bruce Crowther, NCH President and CEO. “We’re thrilled to have him on board.”

Grady holds a master’s degree in Hospital and Health Services Administration from Ohio State University, and also received a Diversity Champion Award and Distinguished Graduate Award from Ohio State. He has served as chairman of the Illinois Hospital Association, and spent four years on the Board of Trustees for the American Hospital Association, among his many professional affiliations.

Marla Friedman Glabe

Marla Friedman GlabeMarla Friedman Glabe joined the NCH Board of Directors in April. Glabe is a partner with Management Control International Inc., a private firm specializing in asset management, strategic operations and leadership development. She serves on the board of directors for Wintrust Wealth Management, and is president of the North Shore United Way, among other involvements.

“You can tell when you meet her that Marla is a person who cares about people and enjoys giving back to the community,” says Crowther. “We’re happy she’s with us.”

Glabe holds a bachelor of science degree in Actuarial Science, with a minor in Finance, from the University of Illinois at Champaign, where she was a James Scholar. She is also a graduate of Duke University’s Strategic Executive Education Marketing program.
