NCH Medical Group Expands with Acquisition of Northwest Family Physicians

On September 29, Northwest Community Healthcare's Medical Group expanded its network of doctors by acquiring Northwest Family Physicians. The addition of the single-site practice gives the NCH Medical Group a total of more than 50 physicians at five locations in the northwest suburbs.

Northwest Family Physicians, which was incorporated in 1995, serves more than 10,000 patients of all ages, from infants to senior citizens. The primary care practice is located in Arlington Heights and consists of James Ekeberg, MD, John Lightfoot, MD, Ena Hennegan, DO, and Nurit Crystal, MD. The name of the practice has changed to NCH Medical Group.

"Joining the NCH Medical Group allows for better integration among patients, primary care doctors, specialists and the Hospital, and that strengthens our delivery of care," says John Lightfoot, MD. "There's definitely value to physicians and hospitals working together."

According to Michael Hartke, executive vice president of Clinics and Regional Services, the NCH Medical Group is seeking primary care and specialist physicians with the highest quality standards, professional conduct, and a firm commitment to superior patient service.

"We respect physicians' autonomy in their practice of medicine, and provide the technology, business management, marketing and referral resources for long-term success and security," says Hartke.

NCH's goal behind its integrated system of care is to deliver exceptional results to patients every time, at every location, and in every interaction. The former Northwest Family Physicians group is the second physician practice to partner with NCH by joining the NCH Medical Group.
