Ostomy Vendor Fair and Stoma Clinic

Saturday, Nov. 3: 9 am 1 pm

Northwest Community Healthcare's Ostomy Support Group invites the community to attend this free vendor fair. Representatives from major companies will showcase the latest products for ostomy and stoma care.

The event will be held at Northwest Community Hospital in rooms 1-6 and 1-7 (located across from the NCH Auditorium). Attendees should park in the Visitor Garage and enter the building at Visitor Entrance 4.

Attendees can briefly meet with a certified ostomy nurse to discuss pouching products, skin problems or other concerns. To schedule this consultation, call NCH HealthConnection at 847.618.4YOU (4968) or visit www.nch.org/ostomy.

NCH an Enrollment Site for American Cancer Society's Cancer Prevention Study

The American Cancer Society is enrolling Americans nationwide to participate in its third Cancer Prevention Study (CPS-3). Northwest Community Healthcare is participating as an enrollment partner.

This historical research study could be pivotal in understanding and identifying the environmental and genetic factors related to cancer. As part of enrollment, individuals who choose to participate will simply fill out a comprehensive survey (either online or in person) about health history, provide a small blood sample (to be collected by trained phlebotomists) and provide a waist measure. The comprehensive survey takes about 45 minutes to complete while the in person enrollment appointment takes 20 to 30 minutes.

The study is a long-term commitment that requires periodic participation (filling out surveys, for example). Participants must be 30 to 65 years of age and have never been diagnosed with cancer.
