Dr. Lucy Hammerberg was recently named chief quality officer (CQO) at NCH. Dr. Hammerberg comes to NCH with a background in quality management and is trained as an emergency physician. In her previous position, Dr. Hammerberg was chairman and medical director of the emergency department at Norwegian American Hospital in Chicago where she helped develop electronic medical records and computerized physician orders for the ED. In her role at NCH, Dr. Hammerberg will oversee the hospital's efforts to continuously improve quality. Dr. Hammerberg will start her new role at NCH in the late summer.
Margarette (Meg) Kim, RN, also has joined NCH as the new director of surgical services for the main operating room. Meg most recently served as director of surgical services at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital in Melrose Park where she directed operations and strategic alignment of the operating room, cardiac cath lab, anesthesia, same-day surgery, recovery, GI lab and sterile processing departments. She also served as operating room nurse manager for Loyola University Health System in Maywood. Meg will begin her duties on May 15, 2013.
