Emmi Update

NCH began prescribing Emmi, a web-based interactive patient education program, in late August to our elective total knee and total hip patients. In addition to the appropriate procedural program, the Adult Anesthesia and Patient Satisfaction-Hospital Visit Expectations programs were also prescribed to the patient. To date, more than 150 programs have been assigned to our patients.

Feedback received from the patients regarding the Emmi programs has been very positive. We are now in the process of expanding the use of Emmi for our patients in Day Surgery, GI Center, PPPU, Cardiac Diagnostics, Diabetes Services, as well as our elective open-heart patients. Additionally, we will be piloting the use of the Atrial Fibrillation program for the patients on 2S and 3ES. Emmi will roll out in these areas this fall. Thank you to all involved in the roll out of Emmi in above areas and stay tuned for more information as we expand the use of Emmi at NCH.
