New government regulations have been outlined in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). These regulations provide an additional way to help guarantee patient privacy. Patient privacy remains a top priority for hospitals, doctors and pharmacies throughout the United States. As an organization dedicated to safeguarding patients' medical records, Northwest Community Hospital has prepared a Privacy Notice. This notice details how health information will be used and disclosed. This notice also describes patients' rights related to the use and disclosure of individual health information. Your medical records will be ready for you to pick up within 24 hours of receipt of your request, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. Requests made on Friday evenings, Saturdays or Sundays will be made available the following Monday afternoon for pick up. Specific fees apply according to your request. For your security and privacy, you will be required to pick up records in person at the Patient Services Center at the Hospital, show your ID and sign for them.
