A big thank you is in order to all the nurses and technicians that helped get me through an incident that occurred this past week. I was brought into the Emergency Department by the EMT's. I had a seizure and was completely out.
My wife and children were panic striken of course. The Northwest Community Hospital staff was able to put them at ease and kept them informed while they were working with me. As it turns out I had a great outcome and my wife and children are thankful for the attention they were shown while all this happened.
Thanks again,

Last week, I visited The Breast Center for my annual mammogram. I received a phone call from my doctor (and a letter from NWCH) that I needed a subsequent visit for an ultrasound because of something found that was not on my mammogram from the previous year.
Like almost anyone, a fear runs through your entire body with news of that nature. However, I was fortunate enough to encounter someone so thoughtful and considerate and sensitive to the situation, that it actually took my mind off the issue at hand!
When I called ultrasound to make the follow-up appointment, a woman named Susan went above and beyond the call of duty in helping me get a timely appointment. She took my phone number and called me back once the doctor's order was faxed over. Then, when she realized that I was going to be out of town and no appointments were available before I was leaving, she pursued and succeeded in getting me an earlier appointment. All the while, she continued to put extra effort in to achieve the end result.
I can't begin to tell you how impressed I was with her level of dedication to a patient in need. While I am going to need some follow-up work, I was greatly relieved to find out that I was not dealing with cancer. Susan's efforts will allow me to go away on my trip the end of this week with weights lifted off my shoulders.
Living in this community for over 25 years, I am well aware of the stellar reputation of Northwest Community Hospital. Employees like Susan are an integral part of that reputation. I believe that when an employee "goes the extra mile" as Susan did, it should be recognized. She could have easily just done her job, but she put herself in my shoes and accomplished what others might not have even considered. I could not be more grateful.
Sincerely,

I just wanted to say THANK YOU!
Northwest Community Hospital has been “my hospital” for the thirty years that I have lived in Arlington Heights. Your fabulous Emergency Room staff were always there for me and my children and now you have been there for my daughter and grand-daughter.
Megan was only 5 weeks old when she developed an extremely high fever. Dr. Goodlow sent our little Meg and her mom Kristy to the hospital where she was immediately admitted and the testing began. Not only were we thrilled with the doctors from Children’s Memorial, who were in the room numerous times each day; and the always calming presence of our pediatrician; but we especially appreciated the ever-attentive nurses, who understood the fear and helplessness of a mom & grandmother. Our little Meg will celebrate her fourth birthday this August thanks to the pediatric experts at NCH.
Thank you!
