The percentage of breast cancer patients with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) living five or more years following their diagnosis in relation to the general population. DCIS is diagnosed when cells inside some of the ducts of the breast have started to turn into cancer cells, but have not yet spread into the surrounding breast tissue.
