Occupational Health Services

When it comes to managing your business, your employees are your most important asset. A healthy and productive work force is essential. At Northwest Community Hospital, you can expect:

  • Four dedicated Occupational Health sites, located at our three Treatment Centers in Buffalo Grove, Lake Zurich and Schaumburg, and the Arlington Heights Occupational Health Center located in the Busse Center for Specialty Medicine. Occupational Health Services hours are from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
  • Access to any of our three treatment sites listed above and the Emergency Department at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, with leading edge expertise in each of our treatment sites and physicians skilled in treating work-related injuries.
  • Coordinated management of all aspects of injury cases to help ensure your employees receive timely and appropriate treatment and that your organization's healthcare dollars are wisely allocated.

Programs for Workplace Health and Productivity

Occupational Health Services provides employers access to all programs offered by Northwest Community Hospital. These include:

Travel and Immunization Program

Northwest Community Hospital's Travel and Immunization Program is specially designed for companies doing business internationally and to those individual travellers. The program ensures that employees have the proper immunizations before they travel in order to protect their health and gain entrance into their travel destination. Travel and immunization needs are assessed and administered by a registered nurse with physicians support. On-site immunizations are available.

Executive Physical Program

The Executive Physical Program is a comprehensive physical examination designed especially for corporate executives.Your examination will be conducted under the direction of a board certified occupational health physician as well as other Northwest Community Hospital professionals. The results of your physical will be provided to you confidentially, by mail, within one week.

The Executive Physical Program includes:

  • A Personal Health Evaluation
    • Physical examination and medical history, followed by a discussion of results
      • Audiogram
      • Body composition and distribution analysis
      • Coronary Risk Summary
      • Complete blood count
      • Comprehensive metabolic panel
      • Stress EKG administered by board certified cardiologist
      • Hemoccult screening
      • Lipid profile (cholesterol testing requires 12 hour fast)
      • Pulmonary function assessment (Spirometry)
      • Thyroid profile screeening
      • PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen)
      • Urinalysis
    • Optional health assessment tests
      • Colonoscopy( recommended for individuals 50 and over)
      • Chest x-ray (initially, and then recommended every 5 years)
      • Mammogram (for women age 35 and over)

  • Complimentary amenities offered by the The Wellness Center
    • Full use of the equipment on the first floor, including weight resistant and cadiovascular training equipment
      • Full use of lap pool and whirlpool
      • No cost locker and towel service
      • Full use of sauna and steam room
      • Therapeutic massage in the Reflections Spa at the Wellness Center
      • Full use of the Indoor Track (12 laps per mile)
