Mental Health Network
Welcome to Northwest Community Hospital's Mental Health Network, a provider of high quality mental health services. The treatment programs are designed for all stages of life - from youth to older adults. Think of us as your resource in times of crisis. We are also available if you have a question or concern in regards to a variety of mental health and substance abuse issues.
Treatment is tailored to the individual patient’s needs. Each individual’s care is coordinated through the interdisciplinary team to assure a smooth transition between treatment levels, including linkage to community-based outpatient services following discharge. Northwest Community Hospital provides comprehensive care as part of a multifaceted healthcare system, uniquely positioned to care for physical and mental health.
High patient satisfaction is achieved by offering full-time, hospital-based treatment team comprised of psychiatrists specializing in adolescent and adult care and an advance practice nurse/clinical nurse specialist. These professionals are employed by the hospital and provide expertise in the treatment of psychiatric disorders and addictions. Adult Services
Offered for adults 18 and older.
Inpatient treatment - a 20-bed unit for individuals in immediate crisis due to a wide range of emotional and psychiatric issues. Treatment is focused on rapid stabilization of presenting symptoms and transition to a less intensive level of care. Substance abuse/dependence issues will be addressed individually as part of a discharge plan once psychiatric stabilization occurs.
Our adult program offers:
- Private rooms available
- Individualized assessment for mental health and substance abuse
- Medication stabilization
- Individual and group therapy
- Full time on-site psychiatrist and/or advance practice nurse
- Education regarding the cause and impact of psychiatric illnesses, early identification of symptoms and tools for coping
- Care management services including linkage to community resources and facilitation of follow up services
- Discharge planning
Adolescent Services
Offered for youth ages 12 to 18. Treatment for individuals to address a variety of issues including mental health and substance abuse.
There are two levels of treatment available:
- Inpatient Treatment a 12-bed unit designed to evaluate and rapidly stabilize adolescents in crisis with linkage to less intense treatment options.
- Partial Hospitalization Program - a full day of educational and therapeutic services.
1. Mental Health
- Specialized mental health and substance abuse assessment and evaluation
- Individual, group, family therapy and multi-family group
- The treatment is based on a collaborative, interdisciplinary treatment model and staffed by highly trained professionals
- Full time on-site child and adolescent psychiatrist
- Educational seminars for adolescents and their families
- Five day a week school program staffed with certified teachers maintaining coordination with home school
- Discharge planning
- Active follow up services including connections to community based resources and support groups
2. School Refusal Program

3. Chemical Dependency: The Youth Center of Northwest Community Hospital

The Youth Center of Northwest Community Hospital offers a Chemical Dependency Program. There are three levels of treatment available:
- Youth Residential Treatment Program - 30 beds
- Partial Hospitalization Program
- Intensive Outpatient Program

Program includes:
- Specialized assessment and evaluation
- Individual, group, family therapy & multi-family group
- Five days a week school program staffed with certified teachers maintaining coordination with home school
- 12-step approach
- AA, FA, NA, Al-Anon on premise
- Discharge planning
- Active follow up services including connections to community based resources and support groups

Liaison Services
Liaison Services in the Emergency Department of Northwest Community Hospital are available when you, a family member, or someone you care about is in crisis due to issues regarding mental health and/ or substance abuse.
- You will meet with a Mental Health Liaison and an Emergency Department physician for an individual assessment.
- Liaison staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- Resources are available for issues such as domestic violence, child abuse/neglect, sexual assault, substance abuse and homelessness.
