John L. Skeans, CPA, is Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Northwest Community Healthcare. In this role, he oversees Decision Support, Performance Improvement and Finance, including strategic and tactical matters as they relate to financial reporting, financial planning, budgeting, cost benefit analysis, forecasting, revenue cycle, treasury and internal audit.
John joined NCH in June 2015, and brings more than 23 years of healthcare leadership experience, including CFO positions at SoutheastHEALTH in Cape Girardeau, Mo., Chesapeake Regional Medical Center in Chesapeake, Va., and St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis. He has also held leadership roles at healthcare systems and with various consulting organizations. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Marshall University, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
John enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his wife, two children and two rescue Chihuahuas. One of their favorite activities is volunteering at the local pet rescue in St. Louis. His hometown is Huntington, West Virginia, where the 2006 movie “We Are Marshall” was filmed. No surprise, John’s favorite sports team is the Marshall University Thundering Herd.
