Where to go at NCH. And when.

Levels of Care

To ensure that the service you and your loved ones receive from Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) is always the right care at the right place—and at the right price, the Northwest Community Healthcare system offers you many treatment option locations based on your health needs.

NCH provides levels of care to meet your full range of healthcare needs. View all locations or schedule a primary care visit or call us at 1-844-NCH-HEALTH for more information.

We offer:

  • 20 convenient locations throughout the northwest suburbs
  • Expanded evening appointments and walk-in hours available for those age 14 and older

You can take advantage of these convenient walk-in hours even if your primary care physician is at a different NCH Medical Group office.

Level 2: NCH Immediate Care Centers (ICCs)

Our four NCH ICCs offer medical treatment when and where you need it. The centers provide walk-in care – from minor issues to non-life-threatening conditions (those which don’t require Emergency Department treatment) for people of all ages.

In addition to the same minor illness and injury care your NCH primary care physician provides, NCH Immediate Care Centers offer additional services for other conditions including:

  • Animal bites (minor)
  • Broken bones
  • Diagnostic imaging services
  • Pre-employment physicals/drug testing
  • Sexually transmitted infection screening
  • Sprains/strains

  • Wounds requiring stitches
  • X-rays

Level 3: The NCH Emergency Department (ED)

The NCH ED is intended for patients who have severe, life-threatening conditions or injuries. People who come to the ED with these serious conditions or injuries are treated first and those with minor illnesses may wait longer for care. NCH serves almost 60,000 emergency patients each year. Our 51 private treatment rooms create a safe and healing environment.

Pediatric Emergency Department

The Pediatric Emergency Department is certified by the Illinois Department of Public Health as an Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP). Staffed by Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago pediatric specialists board certified in pediatric emergency medicine, is open from noon to midnight.

In a medical emergency, always call 911.

Level 4: NCH Day Surgery Center

Nearly three-quarters of all surgeries in the U.S. are performed on an outpatient basis according to the Ambulatory Surgical Center Association of Illinois. NCH’s Day Surgery Center is one of the largest in the state and offers a wide range of same-day procedures.

Because the Day Surgery Center is located on Northwest Community Hospital’s Arlington Heights campus and aligned with a full team of board-certified specialists, patients have the benefit of an advanced, integrated system of care, with access to quality services provided at the lower cost of a stand-alone outpatient facility.
