Alan B. Loren
Alan B. Loren, M.D., PhD

Chief Medical Officer and Executive Vice President

Dr. Loren leads the overall clinical vision for NCH and provides medical oversight, expertise and leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services. As a surgeon, Loren recently retired from clinical practice after 32 years. During that time, he built strong relationships with the physicians and staff at NCH, which contribute to his success as CMO.

Dr. Loren is grateful for his surgical career and the opportunity to help shape the future of NCH. He will never forget how the NCH Neonatal Team worked tirelessly to save the life of his firstborn grandson, who is now a thriving six-year-old. “For that, I will be forever grateful and so proud to be a part of this organization.” Dr. Loren attributes much of his success—and happiness—to his 40-year marriage to his wife and high school sweetheart, Sandy.
