Lead by example. That’s the NCH way. And exactly what our Executive Leadership Team does. They help guide us in improving how we care for everyone in our community, to ensure we’re always here for you when you need it.
Chief Executive Officer and President
With over 25 years of senior leadership experience, Steve joined NCH in 2011 as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He became our CEO and President in 2013. Steve is responsible for advancing the organization’s mission, vision and strategic priorities while overseeing all hospital activities.
During his free time, Steve and his wife enjoy watching their son participate in baseball and basketball leagues. The family also enjoys traveling throughout the U.S. An avid golfer, Steve likes going to the movies, reading and listening to music.
Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President
Michael works alongside our CEO to advance the organization’s mission, vision, core values, strategic priorities and growth goals. He’s also responsible for leading hospital and ambulatory operations as well as managing physician operations.
Michael and his family live here in our service area and when he isn’t at one of the kids’ many school-related events, Michael enjoys the outdoors and is an avid college basketball fan. He also attributes his participation in team sports to shaping his family life, work ethic and professional style.
Chief Medical Officer and Executive Vice President
Dr. Loren leads the overall clinical vision for NCH and provides medical oversight, expertise and leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services. As a surgeon, Loren recently retired from clinical practice after 32 years. During that time, he built strong relationships with the physicians and staff at NCH, which contribute to his success as CMO.
Dr. Loren is grateful for his surgical career and the opportunity to help shape the future of NCH. He will never forget how the NCH Neonatal Team worked tirelessly to save the life of his firstborn grandson, who is now a thriving six-year-old. “For that, I will be forever grateful and so proud to be a part of this organization.” Dr. Loren attributes much of his success—and happiness—to his 40-year marriage to his wife and high school sweetheart, Sandy.

John oversees decision support, performance improvement and finance, which include: strategic and tactical matters as they relate to financial reporting, financial planning, budgeting, cost-benefit analysis, forecasting, revenue cycle, treasury and internal audit.
John enjoys spending time with his wife, children and two rescue Chihuahuas. His hometown is Huntington, West Virginia, where the 2006 movie “We Are Marshall” was filmed. No surprise, John’s favorite sports team is the Marshall University Thundering Herd.
