Our highly trained and licensed staff of speech-language pathologists concentrate on restoring your ability to communicate through the development and improvement of speaking, listening, thinking, reading, writing, problem-solving, organizing and sequencing.
Speech and Language Therapy Services Include:
- Swallowing evaluations, including videofluoroscopic swallow studies from infants to adults
- Voice rehabilitation and strengthening
- Rehabilitation programs for patients with stroke, mental status changes, cancer, Parkinson’s Disease, traumatic brain injury, ALS, Alzheimer’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Huntington’s Disease and other neurological conditions
- Services for patients having trouble speaking intelligibly or understanding, finding or forming words
Specialized Speech and Language Therapy Programs
- Lee Silverman Voice Treatment® (LSVT) focuses on helping patients with Parkinson’s Disease maintain their ability to communicate
- VitalStim® NMES swallowing treatment
- Brain Waves: A Stroke Support Group that meets on the third Thursday of the month from 2:00 to 3:30 pm at the Behavioral Health Center on the NCH campus. Every month, the program includes a meet and greet, a guest speaker and light refreshments. The program is free but registration is required. You may register online or by calling Health Connection at 847-618-4968.
