Strike Out Colon Cancer

Sunday, March 3, 2019 @ 12:30 PM - 4:00 PM
Come out and play a part in helping those in need receive critical screening for colon cancer.

According to the American Cancer Society, colorectal cancer—or colon and rectal cancer—is the third most common cancer diagnosed in both men and women in the United States. It's also the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths. Yet, it’s estimated that 60 percent of colorectal cancer deaths could be prevented with regular screening for the disease.

Strike Out Colon Cancer will be a fun, family friendly event sure to inspire and educate all who attend about the importance of colorectal cancer screening and how it can save lives.

How can you help Strike Out Colon Cancer?

1. Sign up to bowl! And invite your friends, family, coworkers and neighbors to sign up as well. Register up to six participants per lane/team. Cost is $40 per bowler. Cost of registration includes shoes and lunch (pizza, wings and drinks). Registration for teams will be held under the name of the person who registers and pays for the event. Please note names of individual players in the comments section below when registering.

2. Get creative and start asking others for donation to sponsor your game/score/per pin/flat amount—however creative you want to be. Spread the word on social media, email and just plain talk it up. We’ll help you get started by sending a fundraising kit after you register. After you collect your donations, send them on to nch.org/donate and be sure to choose “Strike Out Colon Cancer” in the designation field. Prizes will be awarded to top fundraisers!

3. Come and have fun! All ages welcome. No skills required. Participants are encouraged to create their own team shirts. Prizes will also be awarded to the top three teams with the highest scores. And if you can’t attend, please consider donating to this new fund by going to nch.org/donate.

Registration: 12:30 to 1 p.m. / Bowling begins at 1 p.m. / Award ceremony at 3:30 p.m.

All profits from this event will go toward the Northwest Community Healthcare Foundation’s Colorectal Cancer Screening Fund, which provides assistance for people in need to receive their first colonoscopy to screen for colorectal cancer.
