More than 240 golfers – from corporate leaders to physicians and administrators – filled two courses at the Medinah Country Club on July 9 for the Northwest Community Hospital (NCH) Foundation’s 21st Annual Golf Classic.

Net proceeds exceeded a record $460,000 which will be used toward the purchase of a Halcyon Linear Accelerator, used to deliver radiation during cancer treatments. Considered a “game changer,” the Accelerator is the latest technology in the healthcare market. NCH would be among the first in the nation to offer it, alongside institutions like MD Anderson and Penn University Medical Center.

The event was marked by one of the most successful auctions and raffles in years. Participants could golf as well as submit bids online or in person for over 60 items, including amazing sports and concert packages, getaways, generous restaurant gift certificates and entertainment experiences.”

“I can’t thank everyone enough, especially our event Co-Chairs, Frank Russo and Pat Wallace, and our Golf Classic Committee who stepped forward and helped us reach another all-time record for this event,” Dave Ungurean, NCH Foundation Director, says. “The cause couldn’t be more important, a revolutionary treatment technology that will transform the experience and outcomes for cancer patients in this community and beyond.”

NCH has a nationally recognized Oncology Program and is committed to offering the latest technological advances to patients. For more information on the Annual Golf Classic, visit nch.org/golf
