ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (November 7, 2016) – Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) is expanding its gastrointestinal services in the community by entering
into a joint venture with a number of physicians from the community. The Northwest Endoscopy Center, 1415 S. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights,
takes effect this winter.
Under the joint venture, Northwest Endoscopy Center will continue to provide easy access for a range of endoscopic and outpatient gastroenterology (GI)
procedures. The 3,600-square-foot single-specialty endoscopic ambulatory surgery center will have two procedure rooms and is expected to perform more than
4,000 procedures annually.
“The joint venture will expand NCH’s services in the community and offer patients quality and convenient care outside of the hospital setting,” says
Michael Hartke, chief operating officer at NCH. “The new Northwest Endoscopy Center will offer the right care at the right place for our patients.”
Mitchell Bernsen, M.D., board certified in gastroenterology, will be the medical director in this new joint venture.

comfortable and accessible location," Dr. Bernsen says. “We will be sharing our core values of high quality, safe, and cost-effective medical care.”
The Northwest Endoscopy Center’s team consists of a number of GI specialists, highly skilled nurses, technologists and support staff who treat patients
with many conditions, including colorectal cancers, Crohn’s disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and ulcerative colitis. The team will perform
colon cancer screenings and outpatient GI procedures, including colonoscopies, upper endoscopies, flexible sigmoidoscopies and hemorrhoid bandings, among
