ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (November 7, 2016) – Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) is shining a light on lung cancer by offering a night of education and
support to people affected by the disease, as well as their families and friends.
Shine a Light on Lung Cancer
is scheduled from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, November 10, at the Busse Center for Specialty Medicine’s Learning Center on the hospital campus in Arlington
Heights. Attendees will learn about the latest screenings, treatments and support options. All are welcome to attend, no matter where they are receiving
The program, sponsored by the Lung Cancer Alliance, will feature keynote speaker John Egan, M.D., an interventional pulmonologist on staff at NCH, who will
talk about the newest methods for diagnosing lung cancer early.
Philip Lobo, M.D., a radiation oncologist at NCH, will discuss the progress in treating lung cancer. Members from the NCH cancer team also will discuss taking a team
approach to treating lung cancer and survivorship.
A lung cancer patient will conclude the program with a personal story. The night ends with a ceremonial shining of light from flashlights to honor lung
cancer survivors and their family members.
