Third confirmed patient in Illinois with COVID-19 released from hospital; now in home isolation

The third confirmed case of the Novel Coronavirus in the state of Illinois has been released from Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) and is now at home in isolation. He continues to recover and is doing well. He is under observation by public health officials.

NCH’s top priority remains keeping patients, staff and community safe at all times. NCH continues to follow CDC protocols and is working closely with task forces from the CDC, Illinois Department of Public Health, and Lake and Cook County Public Health Departments to monitor the health of the patient.

Staff identified as having had contact with the patient have been screened, and based on the risk assessment, appropriate steps have been taken to monitor, test and/or home isolate.
