August 7, 2019

High regional rank; high performer in several areas

U.S. News and World Report, the global leader in quality rankings, has released its Hospitals Rankings & Ratings 2019 Report, listing Northwest Community Hospital (NCH) at #12 in Chicago, #14 in the state, and awarding high performance marks in several specialties.

NCH ranked as a high performing hospital in the areas of Gastroenterology & GI Surgery (five years in a row); Colon Cancer Surgery, Heart Failure, and Knee Replacement (four years in a row); and ranked high in the treatment of patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

“We are extremely proud of the quality of care we provide to our community,” says Stephen Scogna, President/CEO of NCH. “To rank #12 in Chicago and #14 in the state of Illinois is a testament to the exceptional abilities and dedication of our staff and physicians.”

U.S. News evaluates hospitals in certain procedures and conditions and assigns each hospital a rating of high performing, average or below average. Their report helps to guide patients who need high-level care whether they are facing a difficult surgery, a challenging condition or have an added risk because of other health problems or age.
