Valet Parking

Valet Parking Service

In order to better meet the needs of our outpatients and visitors, we provide complimentary valet parking at three locations on the Hospital campus.

Care Carts

Care Carts

These carts move patients and visitors between the Busse Center, Day Surgery Center, South Pavilion, North Pavilion and all points in between (including Radiation Oncology and the Ambulatory Infusion Clinic). To request Care Cart service upon your arrival to the Hospital campus, please speak with a Guest Services volunteer or Hospital staff member at the information desks located at each entrance.

For cancer patients only. Serves all of Northwest area.
Cost: Free. 
Please Note: Volunteer escort service to and from treatment centers. Call at least 4 business days in advance to schedule rides for cancer related appointments.

Comfort Keepers

Cost: 1 hour visit: $40.00 per hour or 2-3 hour visit: $28.00 per hour
Please Note: This is a home health agency that offers escort to the doctor, shopping, etc. Caregiver will drive person to their destination, stay with them, and bring them back.

Des Plaines - Taxi Subsidy Program

Hours: Monday - Sunday: 24 hours a day can access taxis.
Cost: Each voucher has a $3.00 value; only one ticket will be accepted for a one-way ride.
Please Note: Must be age 65 or older or be disabled. Des Plaines must be a start or end point.

Elk Grove Township Dial-a-bus

Hours: Monday - Friday: 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Cost: No cost, but donations are accepted
Please Note: Must live in Elk Grove Township, be age 55 or over. Need an emergency card filed before you can use the service Can accommodate mobility limited riders (those using walkers, wheelchairs, etc.). One registered caregiver allowed to ride with patient. Please let dispatcher know if you have a disability at the time you make reservation. Curb to curb service. Reservations required a minimum of one day advanced notice. The bus will take you anywhere within Elk Grove Township: to doctor offices plus Northwest Community Hospital. If going to the doctor, appointments must be scheduled Monday through Friday between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to get all riders home by 3 p.m.

Elk Grove Township Disability Transport Service

Cost: The voucher is worth $5.00 for each one way trip. For fares under $5.00, give the voucher and there is no change back. There is no limit on vouchers.
Please Note: Must live in Elk Grove Township, be permanently disabled between the ages of 18 and older or seniors over 55; you can use this service for any reason, traveling inside and outside of the township. No lifts provided. Call or visit the website for an application. With the application please note that proof of residency, proof of age, and proof of disability completed by your doctor will be required.

Escorted Transportation Services/Northwest (ETS/NW) Arlington Heights Senior Center

1801 W. Central Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60005
Hours: Monday - Saturday: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Cost: $12.00 donation for each round trip will be appreciated. An invoice will be sent the month after services are provided for the donation. Volunteers do not accept tips.
Please Note: Volunteers use their own cars to drive seniors (60+) to medical/dental appointments, wait for them and bring them home again, stopping at the pharmacy, if necessary, on the way home. Call for an application and it will be mailed to you, or visit the website and download and print. Once the application is received and processed, services will be available; please allow at least one week for this processing to occur. Seniors must be able to get in and out of a car without physical assistance; Portable, foldable walkers and wheelchairs are acceptable. One week notice is preferred.

First Transit

Hours: Monday - Friday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Please Note: This service is for Public Aid recipients going to medical appointments. Steps: Call a transportation company to see if they can take you to your doctor’s appointment. If you need help finding a transportation company, call First Transit at 877-725-0569. Call First Transit to get your trip approved. Have a pen and paper ready, along with your Medicaid ID# and appointment information. Write down the reference number given. Call the transportation company to give them your reference number from First Transit, and schedule your pick-up time.

Harmony Home Care

Please Note: This is a home health agency that provides door-to-door transportation. They have a shuttle bus with a wheelchair lift to take people to the doctor. Please call at least one week in advance to schedule a ride. Medicare does not cover.

Northwest Community Healthcare Courtesy Van

Hours: Monday - Friday: 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Cost: $5.00 per direction ($10.00 for round trip total)
Please Note: For individuals with no other means of transportation. Provides  transportation between home and the following locations: Northwest Community Hospital, Busse Center, Wellness Center, Day Surgery Center, and the Rolling Meadows Physical Rehab and Therapy.
To schedule a ride, call 24 hours in advance. For outpatient procedures and services, physical therapy, tests, etc.; not for hospital patients being discharged, appointments with physicians or to visit patients. Must live within boundaries of: Rt.22 (Half Day Rd) to the North, I-294 to the East, Route 59 to the West, and Thorndale, Elgin/O’Hare Expressway, or Irving Park Rd to the South. Can accommodate wheelchairs, but the person must be able to maneuver wheelchair independently; one ambulatory companion may ride with a frail patient to provide assistance.

Pace Northwest Cook County ADA Paratransit Services

Hours: Monday - Friday: 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Cost: $3.00 each way
Please Note: Provides a small bus with lift for door-to-door service within the Northwest Suburban Cook County (Townships of Elk Grove, Schaumburg, Palatine, Wheeling, Niles, and Northfield).
To register: Call 312-663-4357 to request an application from RTA (you must be approved before using this service); when approved, you will receive an ID card to show to driver. To schedule a ride call 800-554-7599 or TTY 800-833-7223; Call the day before ride is needed, early in the morning (5:30 a.m. - 9 a.m.), as route gets filled on a first call, first served basis. Must be unable to use a regular fixed route due to a physical or mental disability and be within 0.75 miles of a Pace fixed route; registered personal care attendants may ride for free.

Palatine Township Transportation

Hours: Monday - Friday: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Cost: $2 each way; attendants may accompany free of charge, but should be signed up first
Please Note: Palatine Township operates a minibus curb-to-curb service for seniors (60+) and/or permanently handicapped individuals living within the Palatine Township boundaries. In addition, the minibus goes to Arlington Heights on Tuesdays for medical appointments. Reservations required 3-14 days in advance. First-time riders need to go to the Township office to fill out a registration application

Palatine Township Taxi Subsidy Program

Hours: Monday - Sunday: 24 hours per day
Cost: Taxi Cab Vouchers for seniors that are worth $4.00 off the metered fare
Please Note: Anyone needing vouchers can stop at the Township front office to fill out an application. 10 vouchers are provided at a time, allowed up to 10 per month maximum, and they have no expiration date.

Schaumburg Dial-a-Ride Transportation (DART)

Hours: Monday - Friday: 5:30 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Saturday: 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. 
Cost: $1.00 each way for age 65+ and disabled persons (ride passes: $9.50 for 10 rides) $2.00 for others, each way (ride passes: $19.00 for 10 rides)
Please Note: Curb-to-curb bus service for people living in Schaumburg and is open to the general public. Bus travels within the Village of Schaumburg. Buses are equipped with lifts. Call 90 minutes to 2 hours in advance.

Schaumburg Taxi Subsidy Program

Hours: Monday - Sunday: 24 hours per day 
Cost: Village subsidizes $2.70 off the metered rate per one way trip with coupon, or $5.00 off for hospital and treatment center trips
Please Note: Those who wish to participate must live in the village of Schaumburg and first be registered in the Benefit Access Program, which is formerly Circuit Breaker (1-800-252-8966). Must be a senior or disabled person and meet RTA reduced fare card requirements. Trips must start or end in Schaumburg.

Schaumburg Township Seniors and Disabled Bus

Hours: Monday - Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Cost: $1.00 ($15.00 ticket for 18 rides)
Please Note: Must live in Schaumburg Township and be over age 60 or ages 18 and older and be permanently disabled, and travel within Schaumburg Township. Bus goes to Northwest Community Hospital second and fourth Monday and Wednesday of each month at 11:00am and returns at 1 p.m. Buses are equipped with a lift. Reservations are required with a minimum of 3 days advanced notice recommended. One registered caregiver allowed is to ride with the patient at no charge.

TRIPS Program - Inter-Township Medical Transportation

Hours: Monday - Friday: 5 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Saturday: 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Cost: The fare is $5.00 per township boundary crossed, with a maximum of $10.00 each way; some exceptions for certain hospitals are made, with a $10.00 set fee Please Note: TRIPS is a door-to-door medical transportation program that crosses township boundaries for seniors and persons with disabilities who live in Palatine, Wheeling, Elk Grove, Hanover or Schaumburg Townships; they will also travel to Barrington or Maine. Registration is required. Must be a senior over 60, disabled over 18 and signed off by a physician. Registration forms are available at the townships, by calling and requesting forms be mailed or through the website; it can take 10-14 days for registration.

VA – Veteran’s Administration Hines

Cost: Free
Please Note: Provides transportation for veterans to medical appointments at Hines VA Hospital if income is under $12,465 for a single person or $16,051 for a married couple. Must have authorization from a doctor at Hines VA

Wheeling Township Senior and Disabled Transportation Services

Hours: Monday - Friday: 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Cost: $2.00 each way within the township and $8.00 each way outside of the township (for medical appointments only)
Please Note: Reservations are required and may be made up to 30 days in advance; a minimum of 10 business days advance notice is recommended. One registered caregiver or helper is allowed to ride with the patient at no charge. Please schedule your medical appointments to begin no earlier than 9 a.m. and no later than 2 p.m.; appointments must be finished by 3:30 p.m. to allow for a return ride. When the medical van schedule is filled, some riders choose to use the scheduled “Dial-a-Bus” service to travel to and from their medical appointments.
