Breast Cancer Support Group (formerly Reach for Support)

Breast cancer survivors and the women in their lives who support them are invited to attend this monthly gathering. The group generally meets the first Wednesday of the month, from 6:30 – 8 p.m. in Radiation Oncology at NCH. This group is facilitated by Kim Jensen, LCSW, OSW-C, and Breast Patient Navigator Christine Masonick, RN, MSN, OCN. Crochet and Cancer Support Group

Crochet away in this social group open to anyone affected by cancer! New to crochet? That's okay! Crochet tips and guidance will be provided. This group will be relaxed and allow you to work at your own pace, either on the project of the day or one of your own existing projects. You will have the opportunity to learn more about the art of crochet and share your work as you relax and enjoy the company of others. Guided Imagery for those Affected by Cancer

This group is for cancer survivors, and their loved ones who are looking to increase their sense of well being, balance and comfort. This group is open to those who are newly diagnosed, going through treatment, have completed treatment, or have a loved one with cancer. Join Diane Sullivan, MS, LPC, CH, as she leads the group in using relaxation techniques and visualization. The only requirement is that you are willing to enjoy the feeling of relaxation. Head & Neck Cancer Support Group

This support group is for anyone with head and neck cancer (cancers inside the mouth, nose or throat) and their family and friends. The group generally meets on the fourth Thursday of the month. Leukemia, Lymphoma and other Blood-Related Disorders Support Group

A support group for those with blood-related disorders, their families and friends, meets the second Wednesday of each month, from 6:30 – 8 p.m. in Radiation Oncology. The group discusses issues related to leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and any other blood-related disorders. Anyone affected by these diseases, including family and friends, are encouraged to attend. The group is facilitated by Kim Jensen, LCSW, OSW-C. Co-sponsored by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Look Good...Feel Better®

A program that teaches beauty techniques to women who are actively undergoing cancer treatment, to help them combat the appearance-related side effects of radiation and chemotherapy. Taught by a cosmetologist. Participants receive a free make-up kit valued at up to $250. The class is held in Radiation Oncology. Co-sponsored by the American Cancer Society, the Personal Care Products Council Foundation, and the National Cosmetology Association. Lung Cancer Support Group

NCH has partnered with Wellness House to offer a monthly support group for people directly affected by lung cancer. This includes individuals diagnosed with lung cancer, as well as the people who love them. This group will provide you with the opportunity to connect with others, share your commonalities and life experiences, and find support. Men with Cancer

This group provides a time for men to share personal experiences and common concerns. This group meets the third Wednesday of the month, from 6:30 – 8 p.m. in Radiation Oncology. Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) Support Group

This support group is open to all MDS patients, their families and friends. The group provides opportunities to exchange thoughts and ideas on dealing with MDS. The class meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in Radiation Oncology. (Please note that this group does not meet in November and December.)

Pancreas, Hepatobiliary, Esophageal, and Gastric Cancer Support Group

This support group is for anyone with a pancreas, liver, bile duct, esophageal or stomach cancer, as well as their family and friends. The group meets the first Tuesday of the month, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Radiation Oncology. Facilitated by Oncology Social Worker Kim Jensen, LCSW, OSW-C, and Pancreas Patient Navigator Stephanie Evans, RN. Survivorship Class Series

These classes are open to anyone diagnosed with cancer and their loved ones. Whether you are still in treatment or have been out of treatment for years, these classes are for you.
