Our Hospital

Our Hospital Content

When your patients need hospital services, you want only the best. And that's what you'll find at Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH). We're committed to quality, compassionate healthcare and personal service for our patients, our community and the physicians who work with us.

In fact, we're changing the way people think about a community hospital, with our state-of-the-art technologies and treatments, and nationally recognized expertise. At Northwest Community Healthcare, you'll find:

Leading-edge technologies

NCH is an early adopter of technology that improves medical outcomes and the patient experience with advances like the dual-source CT scanner, CyberKnife® Stereotactic Radiosurgery System (SRS), the da Vinci® Robotic Surgical System and more.

Expert partnerships

NCH is the only hospital in the Northwest Suburbs with 24-hour, on-site access to neonatologists from Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. We also partner with the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation to bring leading heart care and stroke specialists to NCH. And we offer excellence in maternal-fetal medicine through our relationship with Evanston NorthShore.

Excellence in prevention, early detection and treatment of complex diseases

NCH brings world-class breast, cardiovascular, cancer, gastrointestinal, pancreas, prostate and stroke care to the Northwest Suburbs and beyond. Among our many honors, we've been named:

  • Top 100 Hospital for Cardiovascular Care by Thomson Reuters
  • Comprehensive Stroke Center by the Joint Commission
  • Three-year approval with commendation from the American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer for our cancer program

Outstanding nursing support

NCH earned designation as a Magnet® Hospital for nursing excellence—achieved by only 6 percent of hospitals in the nation. We've also received the Beacon Award for critical care excellence by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.

Transparency in quality care reporting

NCH was the first hospital in the region to show consumers how we compare to state and national benchmarks with our online Quality Report Card. Take a look—you'll see we rank well above the national average in most categories.

Serious illness and injury care

NCH is a state-designated trauma center with the busiest Emergency Department in the Northwest Suburbs. Our Emergency Department is also approved for Pediatrics (EDAP) by the state of Illinois and staffed by pediatric emergency physicians from Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. Our Critical Care Unit is the only one in the area staffed around the clock with board-certified intensivists.

Modern, advanced facilities that promote patient comfort and healing

We care about you and your patients. That's why we continue to expand and improve our facilities and provide you with the latest in advanced technology to meet today's changing needs. Recent additions to our facilities include:

  • Busse Center for Specialized Medicine, home to The Breast Center
  • Nine-floor South Pavilion patient care addition
  • New Mother Baby floor with the most advanced equipment for safer deliveries
  • New GI Interventional Procedure room
  • Renovated Cardiac Diagnostics suite

Comprehensive, responsive services

We're known for the excellent communication and support we offer doctors and patients. For example, you'll get quick turnaround on all the patient records and reports you need—including direct access to digital images from your own office or home computer.
