Alzheimer’s Disease Caregiver Support Group

When: Fourth Monday of each month: 7:00 pm
Where: Arlington Heights Village Hall, 33 S. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60005

Sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association-Greater Illinois Chapter, the group is open to the community. It provides emotional support and practical information for family members and caregivers of those with Alzheimer’s Disease. Participants will be encouraged to share information and exchange coping skills. Educational topics will also be provided to update attendees on the latest research and medical treatments available for Alzheimer’s Disease. For more information, call 800‑272‑3900.

Brain Waves: A Stroke & Brain Injury Community Support Group

When: Third Thursday of the month: 3:15 pm–4:15 pm
Where:  1801 W Central Rd,  Arlington Heights, IL 60005

Come join our stroke and brain injury support group. Our meeting is open to all survivors, caregivers, and families. Come share personal stories, meet new people, and learn about topics focused on recovery. Each month, we focus on a different topic through discussion, guest speakers, and presentations.

Aphasia Communication Group

When: Second Tuesday of each month: 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
Where: 3300 Kirchoff Rd, Rolling Meadows IL, 60008

Join the aphasia communication group to practice language skills such as reading,writing, speaking, and listening. You will be able to meet other people with aphasia and practice social communication.

The group is available to anyone with a diagnosis of aphasia.

The group is led by a Speech-Language Pathologist and does not require insurance.

Group cost: $5 per class. A discount bundle is available for $20 for 5 classes. Cash only.
