2018 Healthgrades Distinguished Hospital Award
Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) received the 2018 Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence™ from Healthgrades, the leading online resource for comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals. The distinction places NCH in the top five percent for clinical performance among nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide. This is the second year in a row NCH has earned the distinction.
“Our first priority is patient safety and quality in all that we do,” says Stephen Scogna, president and chief executive officer, NCH. “Our commitment to excellence is achieved through a clinical vision shared among our physicians, nurses and frontline staff.”
NCH is a recipient of numerous 2018 Healthgrades distinctions, including America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Stroke Care™, the Cardiac Care Excellence Award™, the Neurosciences Excellence Award™, the Cranial Neurosurgery Excellence Award™, and the Pulmonary Care Excellence Award™, among others.
“This award – along with our three-time Magnet recognition, Leapfrog quality grade of A, and other recognitions of note – reflects our combined commitment and ability to serve our patients and the community with the highest standards of excellence in quality care,” Scogna says.
From 2014-2016, patients treated in hospitals receiving the Healthgrades Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence had, on average, a 26.3 percent lower risk of dying (across 19 procedures and conditions where mortality is the clinical outcome) than if they were treated in hospitals that did not achieve this distinction.
