NCH Wellness Center partially reopens, membership not required

June 8, 2020

The Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) Wellness Center (900 W. Central Road, Arlington Heights) is now partially re-opened for business. For a limited time, the center will be open to the public without membership requirements. The services offered will be fee-based.

Safety remains NCH’s number one priority.

“We understand that your exercise plan might have taken a back seat due to the recent drastic changes in your daily life. We look forward to helping you maintain or get back into shape and safely join others with similar goals,” explains Steve Balaton, MBS, Director, NCH Wellness Center.

Under the State of Illinois Phase 3 Plan, the Wellness Center will offer: 1-on-1 personal training, Pilates swim training and yoga; outdoor group exercise classes in the fitness yard with up to nine participants; and live streaming and prerecorded group exercise classes available on computer or mobile phone.

The Spa and Kids Club will remain closed for the time being.

Guests to the NCH Wellness Center can expect:

  • Everyone entering will be temperature checked and health screened
  • Six feet of social distancing in the lobby area, hallways and conference rooms
  • 10 feet of social distancing in the locker rooms and during exercise
  • Disinfectant spray, hand sanitizers and gym wipes available throughout the center and outside fitness area
  • Equipment and lockers disinfected before and after each use
  • Lockers and showers disinfected every hour
  • Everyone will be required to wear a mask while not exercising
  • Masks are not required, but encouraged during exercise
