Bivalent “Omicron” Booster

September 15, 2022

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has approved and is recommending new bivalent (“Omicron”) boosters for individuals ages 12 and up.

Receiving a COVID-19 vaccine after you recover from COVID-19 infection provides added protection and prevention against COVID-19 illness.

People who are moderately or severely immuno-compromised have different recommendations for COVID-19 vaccines, including boosters.

COVID-19 vaccine and booster recommendations continues to evolve and recommendations are updated as the CDC continues to monitor the latest data. Please visit nch.org and the CDC website for additional updates.

For those over the age of 11:

  • People ages 12 and older: NCH is currently accepting new Omicron booster appointments. Appointments can be made through MyChart or by calling 847-618-0242.

  • CDC recommends everyone stay up to date with their COVID-19 vaccination, including all primary series doses and boosters for their age group:

For those under the age of 12:
