A season of thankfulness

December 2, 2020

As a community-focused health organization, we want you to know NCH is so much more than a business, an employer, a healthcare provider, a wellness center, a pharmacy, a trauma center, a dedicated pediatric emergency department, a lab and a rehabilitation facility. We are a family.

Members of our executive team want to share their gratitude and admiration for our team members with you, our patients and community members.

Happy Holidays!

Stephen Scogna, CEO & President
10 years at NCH

“I want to wish everyone that is part of the NCH family a very happy holiday season. This has been an incredibly challenging and difficult year for so many people, and I am tremendously proud of how our teams have responded under very trying circumstances. Our mission is to improve the health of the communities we serve and to meet each individual’s healthcare needs. I can say with certainty that we have done this at the highest levels. Thank you for your bravery and dedication. This is the time of year that we can take a moment and reflect on what we are grateful for in our lives, and I can proudly say for me it is being a part of this team at NCH.

“My holiday wish for NCH is for staff to stay safe and healthy and share the joy of the holidays with their loved ones.”

Nancy Ardell, Executive Vice President & Chief Legal Officer

“During this holiday season, I am grateful to be a part of the NCH family. I am continuously impressed by the support that NCH employees provide to one another. Every day, you show your commitment to caring for our community by thinking creatively about how NCH can best serve our patients throughout this pandemic. In particular, I would like to thank all of you working in support areas. Your efforts behind the scenes are key to the success of our organization, and your important work has not gone unnoticed!”

Michael Hartke, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
10 years at NCH

“Since the first COVID-19 positive patient presented at NCH, I have been amazed at the spectacular response from every part of our organization. I have always been proud of the level of care that is provided at NCH but never more grateful than I have been throughout this pandemic. I am so grateful to work with a team of caregivers that are intelligent, compassionate and skilled at caring for our community. Our support services team has done everything imaginable to meet this new and unprecedented challenge. I am grateful to live and work in a community that cares for one another enough to wear a mask, wash their hands and remain appropriately socially distant. I am thankful for every sacrifice that so many people have made to ensure we get through this pandemic as a community!”

Terry Solem, J.D., Vice President, Human Resources
5 years at NCH

“I want to express my gratitude to all of our outstanding caregivers and specifically to my HR and Learning Center teams. We do our best to provide benefits and services to our entire NCH team so that they can provide exceptional service to our patients and the community. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

“During a challenging holiday season, I wish our NCH family health, happiness and hope for a bright future.”

Chrissie Erdmann, Vice President, Finance
2.5 years at NCH

“I have always been grateful and proud to work at NCH. I am prouder than ever this year, and so very grateful for everything that the front line workers have done during such a challenging time. I want to thank my finance team for doing all they can to support these heroes that we work with. From getting the bills paid, processing payroll, tracking COVID-19 related expenses and helping us budget during an uncertain time – the behind-the-scenes work is part of what keeps the hospital going.

“My holiday wish for NCH is that we continue to deliver the best possible care to patients, and that we come out of this pandemic stronger and more united than ever. Happy Holidays!”
