What is massage cupping?

May 11, 2018

Massage cupping is an ancient Egyptian technique that has evolved over time to address common conditions in the body’s system. Massage cupping is a pleasant yet gentle, non-invasive technique that achieves powerful results in pain reduction, lymph drainage, softening of scar tissue, detoxification, joint mobilization and cellulite reduction.

By creating suction and negative pressure, it is used to drain toxins, loosen adhesions and lift connective tissue, bringing blood flow and hydration to stagnant muscles and skin. It then drains excess toxins by opening up lymphatic pathways.

Cupping is a great way to wake up the body. After the treatment, you will feel invigorated with a profound sense of healing. The process will increase circulation by separating fused tissue layers and draining lymphatic pathways. The result is a smooth appearance and healthy glow that helps reduce cellulite.

Conditions that respond well to massage cupping bodywork are chronic pain, poor circulation, sciatica, inflammatory conditions, headaches and much more! Combining cupping with a regular massage session offers incredible results.

This technique is used safely on adults and the elderly. Precautions are taken through a complete assessment and health history intake form before treatment.
