Community Outreach

Community Resource Center (CRC)

The CRC is a community center that houses a spectrum of agencies and organizations dedicated to meeting the needs of the northwest suburbs’ under-resourced population, including a large percentage of immigrant families.

We own and financially support a 20,000-square-foot building where we partner with the not-for-profit organization Partners for Our Communities (POC). The POC coordinates the services of the providers and employs a skilled staff that provides multilingual direct service, referrals, programs and assistance to community members who seek to improve their lives.

CRC Services include:

Education and Literacy
  • Harper College: non-native literacy / English as a Second Language (ESL), GED citizenship classes
  • POC Learning Lab: computer literacy, vocational support, tutoring and mentoring
  • Palatine Public Library services
  • Community Consolidated School District 15: bilingual outreach
Health and Wellness
  • NCH Community Nurse: bilingual registered nurse provides education, referrals and coordination of care
  • Community Health Worker provides referrals to community clinics, social services, education and support for diabetes and heart failure; prenatal tours and support
Counseling and Social Service
  • Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS) of Chicago: support with immigration and citizenship
  • Palatine Police Department: social workers provide crisis intervention, counseling and referrals
  • Palatine Township Senior Citizens Council: social workers provide outreach and social services for Spanish- and Russian-speaking senior citizens
  • Palatine Assisting Through Hope (PATH): referral-based clothing, household and financial assistance
  • Women In Need Growing Stronger (WINGS): Latina outreach and support for individuals in domestic violence situations
Children’s Programs
  • Early Childhood Developmental Enrichment Center (ECDEC) / Family Involvement Nurturing Development (FIND)
  • I-Compete: after school activities
