Why I vaccinate

December 7, 2021

Kathleen with her husband Michael

Are you still on the fence about getting vaccinated? Unfortunately, this pandemic is not over and unvaccinated hospitalizations continue to rise. But it’s not too late to protect yourself and your loved ones. In fact, it’s so easy!
Vaccines are available for free at the five NCH Immediate Care Centers. The Mount Prospect ICC requires an appointment, but the other locations at Kildeer, Schaumburg, Buffalo Grove and on the campus of Harper College accept walk-ins.
Continuing our series with members of the NCH Community who want others to know their reason for getting their COVID-19 vaccine, meet Kathy! If you’ve already been vaccinated, whether at NCH or another healthcare provider, we thank you!

Name: Kathy Pittman R.N. BSN
Title: Clinical Informatics Analyst
Department: Clinical Informatics
Current hometown: Inverness
Why I got vaccinated: As a nurse, I understand the importance of getting vaccinated to help contain further spread of the virus. Getting vaccinated is the first step in getting our community protected and helping us get back to our usual activities. We all need to do our part!
